College Management Committee

COLLEGE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The College Management committee is a controlling authority that consists of eminent individuals from the fields of management, services, education, and institute. Its purpose is to encourage the efficient and effective coordination of the institute's numerous activities.

Objectives

  • To obtain approval of updated policies and procedures of the institution based on revision of syllabus.
  • To obtain permission to modify and renew infrastructure, staffing, teaching & learning resources, new facilities and achievements to sustain the quality teaching process and to meet norms as per apex body.
  • To conduct meeting once in a year
  • To review and recruit teaching and non-teaching staff based on requirement.
  • To update regarding admission and the results of the academic year.
  • Ensure the continual improvement of standards.
  • Plan and obtain approval for institutional budget.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrator

The administrator is responsible for organizing, participating in, and reporting on management reviews in addition to supervising overall management system responsibilities.

MEMBER SECRETARY
  • To review periodically the working and to ensure the continual improvement of quality management system.
  • Reviews adequacy of teaching, non-teaching staffs and supporting facilities to plan, implement and evaluate the Quality management system
  • Prepares institutional calendar of events to implement curricular and curricular activities.
MEMBERS
  • Monitors progress of syllabus and plan and implement for the same
  • Plans and implements faculty training program and promotions

SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE

Through an evaluation process that compares the candidates' knowledge, abilities, credentials, and experience with the position's particular requirements as stated in the selection criteria, the Selection & Recruitment Committee makes sure that the candidates are qualified for the job.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Recruiting the appropriate people for the appropriate position and students for the appropriate program
  • Teaching and non-teaching staff and students are chosen based on institutional policies and apex bodies' requirements.
  • Organizing an orientation for the chosen staff and students regarding the college's rules and regulations. Outlining the duties of each position and the institution's rules.

CURRICULAM AND EVALUATION COMMITTEE

A curriculum and evaluation committee is established to improve the way the course syllabus is implemented and to take the required steps to guarantee that students meet the learning objectives. In order to serve the college's mission, goals, and students' educational needs, the curriculum committee's work is to ensure that the curriculum is comprehensive, academically sound, and responsive to the changing needs of the community.

Objectives

  • To ensure that the diploma and UG curricula are created, carried out, and assessed in accordance with the apex body.
  • To guarantee that a curriculum's structure and design adhere to the set curricular goals and objectives
  • To keep an eye on every facet of the curriculum.
  • To routinely assess every facet of the curriculum.
  • Systematically evaluate the professional educational requirements for the curriculum.
  • Examine and accept proposals for changing, adding, or removing specific nursing curriculum activities.

Activities

  • Plan schedule of events for every course.
  • Selecting the course coordinators and class coordinators
  • Create the academic year's course-by-course master rotation plan.
  • Creating the course developments keeping the overarching academic goals in mind.
  • Oversee each class's course plan and lesson plan.
  • Ascertain that sufficient educational resources are available.
  • Examine and discuss specific curriculum issues, come up with solutions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Plan and coordinate curriculum-related staff development activities with the staff welfare committee.
  • Get and examine curriculum and instructional program input from a range of sources, including stakeholders, students, and alumina.
  • Describe how students are evaluated.
  • Create and carry out an assessment of the specific educational program as well as the curriculum as a whole.

LIBRARY committee

The library committee was established to ensure the library functioned well and to coordinate with all department heads, teachers, students, and administration. A library committee is an organization made up of individuals tasked with maintaining the library.

Objectives

  • To create a library of worthwhile readings for different classes.
  • To fully support the college's teaching-learning process with information.
  • To provide readers a range of library services and amenities.
  • To assist in the advancement and qualitative improvement of research activities.
  • Creating awareness among students by setting up a student forum.
  • To address the student's library-related grievances
  • To compile the library's yearly list of purchases for books, journals, and policies.
  • To determine and implement guidelines to control the library's operations and programming.
  • To arrange and distribute journals and books.
  • To facilitate easy access to information resources in order to improve and support the academic environment.

Role and responsibilities of library committee:

  • Develop and execute library policies and procedures
  • To create the library's annual budget estimation.
  • To make arrangements for the library's inventory
  • To provide guidance to the librarian on general library development
  • Assists students with regard to Library books/ Journals
  • Issue/return of books ( Faculty& students)
  • Record of late fees and Internet charges
  • Stamping daily newspapers and magazines
  • Carries out the inventory and maintains the stock register.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain library collections to meet the demands of specific user groups
  • Select order and catalog relevant stationery.
  • Ensure a current and accurate inventory of library materials
  • Maintain records and prepare statistical and analytical reports
  • Maintain the record of in-time and out-time of users
  • Assist in INC/university/ state council or any other inspections.
  • To keep a record of all exam papers in soft copy.

Rules & Regulations

Library Committee also makes some library rules for the students. Some general rules are as follows:

  • Students should maintain silence and mobiles are not allowed inside the library
  • In case of any grievances the users should contact to Librarian or Principal.
  • No admission is permitted in library without Identity Card.
  • Students can borrow text books, on their Identity Card in the library.
  • Books / Study materials issued in the study room will have to be returned before leaving the library.
  • Conversation, making noise, sleeping, resting legs on chairs and tables, smoking etc., is strictly prohibited in the Library.
  • No outside/personal books are allowed inside the library.
  • Members entering the Library are required to leave all personal belongings like Umbrella, bags, books, coats, etc at the entrance of the library.
  • The Librarian may recall any book /journal any time if required.
  • Personal belongings should not be left unattended. The Library staffs are not responsible for any loss or damage.
  • Students should follow the dress code of the college while visiting the Library.
  • Misconduct or infringing the library rules is liable for disciplinary action.
  • To obtain NO DUES certificate, members should return all books/journals borrowed pay overdue charges if any.

EXAMINATION AND ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE

The Examination Cell of SKPMC is given responsibility of conduction of professional examinations & maintenance of their records. The examination cell is also having roles and responsibilities to train people involved, and design protocols, procedures to be followed. Standard Operative procedures have been developed and their uniform implementation is primary aim of the examination section.

  • Periodically providing training to all individuals involved to ensure that exams are conducted smoothly.
  • Offers guidance on all topics pertaining to sessional exams, such as schedules, test content, and assessment.
  • Provide guidelines and protocols for evaluating and deciding on test results.
  • Preserve the standard of the testing methods.
  • Select examiners to administer tests.
  • Various certificates, mark sheets, degrees, and other documents pertinent to the examination part are issued.
  • Ensure complete confidentiality and data security

DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE (STAFF & STUDENTS)

The purpose of the College disciplinary Committee is to preserve order inside the college. In order to achieve the college community's educational aims and goals, the committee will make sure that students and staff follow the regulations and maintain peace and order.

Objectives

  • To offer direction and appropriate counsel for staff and student growth instead of punishing them.
  • To encourage students to build internal controls over their own conduct instead than subjecting them to rigid rules.
  • To establish an environment that is both liberal and rigorous in order to support students' overall personal growth.
  • The main objective is to efficiently handle and resolve a variety of student and staff -related issues.
  • To keep the expectations and issues of the students in harmony with the viability of the solutions offered by the authorities.
  • To foster in them a sense of honesty and solidarity.
  • To uphold order on campus, in the classroom, and in the medical facilities.
  • Maintain professional behavior/etiquettes among students.
  • Plan, develop and display the rules and regulations at college and clinical.
  • Reporting incident within 24 hours to principal’s office.
  • Verify and analyze the issues.
  • Classify minor or major incidents.
  • Notifying to the parents or guardian
  • Taking necessary action.

Resolutions

  • The disciplinary committee has the authority to determine that a complaint resolution is necessary.
  • The letter will be signed by the disciplinary committee's convenor, or principal. Additionally, the complaint will be informed.
  • After then, the disciplinary committee will suggest a punishment for the grievances. Staff/ Students typically provide a thorough written explanation as part of this.
  • The staff/ student is informed that he or she must give written notice to the discipline committee within a certain time frame indicating whether or not they agree with the complaint's decision.

STUDENT ACADEMIC ADVISING AND COUNSELING COMMITTEE

Academic advising and counseling committee in nursing programs help students develop educational plans that align with their goals and support their success

Objectives

  • Support students at every stage: Academic advising teams can help students at all stages of their nursing program, from applying to graduating. 
  • Help with academic and career goals: Academic advisors can help students make decisions about their academic major, degree options, and career goals. 
  • Connect students with resources: Academic advisors can help students find university resources and information. 
  • Explain policies and procedures: Academic advisors can explain policies and procedures to students. 
  • Direct course scheduling: Academic advisors can help students with course scheduling.
  • Assess student needs: Academic advisors should assess student needs and concerns.
  • Communicate and document: Academic advisors should communicate and document their work. 

CONTINUING EDUCATION COMMITTEE

A continuing education committee in a nursing college plans activities to help faculty members grow professionally and personally, and to improve their knowledge and skills. These committees may also work to innovate programs, curriculum, and services.

Objectives

  • Organizing professional development activities: The committee organizes events to support faculty members' professional growth, such exchanging intellectual enrichment and keeping up with career advancements.  
  • Making sure CNE courses fulfill requirements: The committee examines suggested CNE courses to make sure they adhere to the INC and State council requirements.
  • Recording contact hours: The committee keeps track of how long it takes to assign nursing contact hours.  
  • Providing information on educational needs: For every CNE activity, the committee offers information on learning assessments, educational requirements, and the target audience.  
  • Ensuring material is up to date: The committee makes sure that the CNE activities' content is grounded in the most recent research.
  • Assessing learning outcomes: The committee makes certain that learning outcomes are suitably assessed.

CO CURRICULAR COMMITTEE

In South Kashmir Paramedical and Nursing College, a co-curricular committee is in charge of encouraging extracurricular activities that aid in students' social, professional, and leisure skill development. Events, cultural programs, and trips are a few examples of these activities. Co-curricular activities are meant to foster in students a sense of cooperation and leadership.

  • Assign tasks to staff members as needed to increase college interest and ensure the committee runs well.  
  • Encourage students to move around and get off their workstations so they may experience new things in real-world settings.
  • Observance of important days. 
  • Giving students the chance to take part in different tournaments.  
  • Select the activities according to the interests of the students.
  • Give every student the tools they need to fully realize their potential and engage in a variety of intra- and inter-college and inter-university forums.
  • Preservation of all activity records.
  • To ensure the success of the activities, coordinate with several sectors.
  • Examine and accept the new program's goals, skills, and material.
  • Arrange, coordinate, and carry out a range of extension activities.
  • Conducting various activities like awareness camps, rally on vital days, role play, puppet show and health talk among the general public.
  • Mass cooking demonstration in the community area.
  • Providing opportunities for students to participate in sports, seminars, various medical camps and screening programmes.

PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

A parent teacher meeting is a scheduled session where parents and teachers come together to discuss a student’s academic progress, behavior, and over all well being. It provides an opportunity for both parties to share observations, address concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support the student’s growth. These meetings help build a partnership between home and college, fostering better communication and involvement in the students education.

Primary Objectives

  • To discuss student's progress and performance. 
  • To share concerns and feedback. 
  • To set goals and targets for student improvement.
  •  To strengthen parent-teacher partnership.

Specific Objectives

For Parents:
  • Understand teacher's expectations and teaching methods. 
  • Get updates on child's academic and behavioral performance. 
  • Discuss ways to support child's learning at home.
  • Address concerns or issues affecting child's performance.
For Teachers:
  • Share student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style.
  • Gather information about student home environment and interests. 
  • Discuss strategies for supporting student's learning needs.
  •  Build relationships with parents and encourage collaboration.
For Students:
  • Improved academic performance through collaborative support.
  • Enhanced communication between home and college. 
  • Increased parental involvement in education.
  •  Better understanding of individual learning needs.

Additional Objectives:

  • Discuss student's social and emotional development.
  • Explore opportunities for extracurricular activities.

  •  Review student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), if applicable.
